Business Content Writer (Contractor)

This individual is responsible for creating content to describe specific business processes from an outline, developing the concepts, and adding probing questions to aid the business in clarifying the business practices described in an operations manual. The business practices are confidential and proprietary.


Primary Responsibilities: Content Development

  • Comprehensive writing editing reviews content (for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate language) and form (for organization, visual design, and usability).
  • Create, review, and update standard operation protocols for various businesses.
  • Apply critical thought process, write using style guidelines, and add to the documents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal partners — owner, editors, and word processors — to ensure accurate content meets clients’ needs.
  • Edit content following the Associated Press Stylebook and FranchiseWrite Style Guide. 


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or extensive industry experience in English/Writing/Editing
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of technical/business writing experience, preferred, including drafting written documents and editing complex documents.
  • Knowledge of Business Management and business processes.
  • Knowledge of the Associated Press Stylebook guidelines is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Microsoft Word and Teams)
    Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • You will be working at home; the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
